The French Window Brasserie & Bar

The French Window in Central’s IFC Mall had historically been a fine dining restaurant, and was remodeled and recast in September 2012 as a contemporary bistro.  The floor-to-ceiling windows let in ample natural light and provide panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island’s skyline.  The dining room has a sleek bar with countertop dining, red velvet banquettes and an impressive glassed wine cellar.

The menu has also been revamped to an eclectic assemblage of brasserie classics, with a particular focus on the raw bar and fresh seafood.  Much of it is sourced from Brittany, from which chef Matthew Bonnier hails.  A seafood platter offers a chance to sample oysters, lobster, crab and shrimp, though we recommend the steamed mussels with fries, which are steamed with white wine, shallots, thyme, parsley and butter and served with crispy homemade French fries on the side.  For mains, the duck confit with sautéed amandine potatoes and rosemary is a perennially popular dish.  Cuisine Cuisine directly adjoins French Window, so if you are unable to secure a seat, try next door.
